Let’s get bluesy, kinda. With his last album, ‘All Hell’, Daughn Gibson provided one of the most unique and striking vocal records in recent memory. A deep country growl resonated its way through blues & country territories, whilst maintaining an atmospheric contemporary aesthetic via the subtle electronic ambience lurking somewhere in the background. New track ‘The Sound Of Law’ is taken from his upcoming album ‘Me Moan’, which is out on Sub Pop on July 9th. Compared to his previous work, this is immediate and bruising, pulsing with an urgency that wouldn’t see it out of place soundtracking a chase scene in some kind of sci-fi western hybrid movie (not Cowboys & Aliens, that can fuck off). Listen below, it’ll gee you up.
