Ghostpoet Some Say I So I Say Light (Album Mini Mix)

We like him, you like him, so let’s talk about him shall we?

Mr. Poet has teased us with a mix of  snippets from his upcoming album Some Say I So I Say Light and what a teaser it is. Everything that we have come to expect from Ghostpoet is there; that drawl, the fine production and the moody atmospherics.

However, that’s not to say there isn’t signs of progress here, the small helpings of ‘Dark Tones’ and ‘Meltdown’  have the slightest nod to the sound of Tricky’s Maxinqauye and you could do a lot worse than to draw comparisons to an album of that size. Also the Microsoft Sam style message at the end of the mix has a certain ‘Fitter, Happier’ quality to it.

For now, we’ll have to wait till May 6th before we can experience the album in full but our impatient natures have been quelled by the release of tour dates. Have a look to see if the gloomy spectacled songsmith is coming to  a city near near you.
