Nicolas Jaar x Purity Ring @Lightning in a Bottle 2013

There are times when we wish we were across the pond, we really do. Don’t get us wrong, the Raccoons are all proud Brits. There isn’t a day that goes by when we don’t sip an ale or talk about the snooker or weep a tear whilst listening to Alan Bennett.

However,  being this side of the sea is kind of a drag when we receive invites to events as cool as ‘Lightning in a Bottle’ which is taking place in Southern Calafornia in the United States of A.

The ‘LIB’ festival is in it’s 8th year and is a festival celebrating some great electronic artists as well as various arty types putting together art for your eyes to gawk at in the South Californian sun.

The whole thing is spread across four days from July 11th to July 15th and includes artists such as Nicolas Jaar, Purity Ring, Rusko, Tycho, Paper Diamond, and GriZ, which sounds like an absolute barnstormer.

The guys behind the festival are The Do Lab, who recently put together a stage at this year’s Coachella which judging from these photos, seemed to be a venue of cool design, musical bliss and loads of fucking sunshine. Look at those people, not a raincoat or a frown in sight. (note: no jealousy here)

So whilst we live our provincial lives in ceaseless rain, we urge you across the seas to get down to Lightning in a Bottle 2013 and enjoy your summer like these people seem to have done last year. More information can be found at their website.
