Expect blood, guts…and ice cream
After much wait it seems that The World’s End is finally nearly upon us. This sees the third silver screen teaming of Simon Pegg, Nick Frost & Edgar Wright who have set the bar pretty high already with cult classics Shaun of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and the much-lauded TV series Spaced.
World’s End offers the final part of a loosely connected series known as the ‘blood, guts and ice cream trilogy’ which are linked by gory violence, elaborate action in the most normal of settings and the mention of a Cornetto.
From the trailer we can gather that this film sees a group of friends return to their small rural home town in order to complete an infamous pub crawl, but have found that the town has taken a slightly eery turn. Also, we see that at some point Nick Frost uses bar stools as makeshift knuckledusters. Cool!
It’s fair to say the hype built around this release is deserved. The cast includes an abundance of fine British actors such as Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine and Eddie Marsden and Edgar Wright seems to have a magic touch that many others seem to lack; that being the ability to make a funny British movie.
The film is set to be released in August, but why not whet your whistle with this teaser trailer? It’s only a click away you fool!
