Another electronic giant awakes! This time it’s Boards of Canada rearing their huge ambient head in public with a new track being posted on their website.
‘Reach for the Dead’ is the first release from the Scottish duo for more than 6 years and the biggest step into the light for the sound of their upcoming album Tomorrow’s Harvest, due to be released next month.
The song itself is everything you expect from BOC really: beautifully atmospheric with just enough movement and tempo to keep you hooked.
The video for the new single was directed by Neil Krug and if I’m knit-picking (and I am) it seems as though Krug’s use of gaping landscapes and old-style filters is the stuff that amateur Boards fans have been doing to older tracks on youtube since forever.
Keep it fresh Neil! There are acne-ridden boys in stuffy box rooms capable of this sort of look.
